Columbus State Community College offers a 65-credit Skilled Trades Technology welding AAS plus five welding certificates ranging from a 13-credit module to 28- or 29-credit intermediate and pipe-specialty pathways. The curriculum covers Stick, MIG, TIG and Flux-Core welding, oxyfuel and plasma cutting, layout and fit-up, drawings, codes, inspection, metallurgy, plate and pipe work, and certification preparation. The Skilled Trades department participates in AWS SENSE Level I and Level II and operates an AWS Accredited Test Facility; the AAS provides an opportunity to earn up to AWS Level II Advanced Welder certification.
