Hawaiʻi Community College

Hawaiʻi Community College is a public community college in the University of Hawaiʻi system. Its Machine, Welding and Industrial Mechanics Technologies program is taught on the UH Hilo Upper Campus and offers a 16-credit Certificate of Completion, a 52-credit Certificate of Achievement and a 67-credit Associate in Applied Science. The curriculum combines machine work and sheet-metal fabrication with oxygen-acetylene and plasma cutting, Stick welding, structural qualification practice, and advanced pipe, MIG and TIG work. Upper-level study includes blueprint reading, layout, CNC and lathe work, rigging and preparation for AWS structural welding tests.
