Alfred State College offers a four-semester Welding Technology AOS through its School of Applied Technology. The four-semester AOS provides extensive hands-on plate and pipe training. Required coursework covers Stick, MIG, TIG, and Flux-Core; oxyfuel and plasma cutting; drawings and welding symbols; fit-up, metallurgy, codes, inspection and testing; fabrication; and a senior project. Students progress through AWS Level I and II standards and complete qualification exercises for multiple processes, including advanced pipe work.
