Area 30 Career Center provides high-school career and technical education in Greencastle, Indiana. Its two-year Welding Technology sequence combines classroom and hands-on shop training with Vincennes University dual credit. Year 1 covers Stick, MIG, Flux-Core, TIG, oxy-fuel and plasma cutting, welding positions and blueprint interpretation. Year 2 advances TIG and Stick skills on varied metals, thicknesses and pipe, adds CAD blueprint work and robotic welding and handling, and may include a work-based-learning placement. Students can pursue AWS welding and OSHA safety certifications.
