Brightpoint Community College

Brightpoint Community College offers two current welding credentials at its Chester campus: a one-year Welding Certificate and a one-year Welding Career Studies Certificate. Both prepare students for entry-level welding work through hands-on laboratory training, safety, blueprint and welding-symbol interpretation, and enhanced entry-level Stick welding skills. The longer certificate also emphasizes complex cutting layout, teamwork, and fabrication of an EDU-1 SENSE project. Current college disclosures identify both credentials with the American Welding Society SENSE Certificate, and qualified students may be eligible for Virginia G3 tuition assistance.
