Calhoun Community College provides hands-on welding education through academic degrees and short-term certificates in Welding Technology, aerospace welding, fabrication, and welding automation, along with noncredit introductory and advanced classes. Current curriculum evidence documents Stick, MIG, Flux-Core, and TIG welding; pipe and structural applications; plasma and oxy-fuel cutting; blueprint reading; inspection and testing; fabrication; and robotic welding. Academic welding facilities are associated with the Decatur campus, while a current advanced workforce class is explicitly scheduled in the Huntsville-Research Park welding shop.
