Chesapeake College offers three one-year credit certificates in welding and metal fabrication: a comprehensive Welding/Metal Fabrication Technologies credential, a MIG and TIG pathway, and a Stick and Flux-Cored pathway. Official curriculum information documents hands-on work with MIG, TIG, Stick and Flux-Core welding, plate and pipe positions, oxyfuel and plasma cutting, CNC cutting, fabrication math, drawings and welding symbols, metallurgy, and preparation for AWS performance qualification tests. A separate noncredit Introductory Welding program provides a faster entry point through Fundamentals of Welding, Structural Welding and Cutting, and Metal Fabrication I at the main Wye Mills campus.
