Chippewa Valley Technical College offers stackable welding training in Eau Claire. The 33-credit, one-year Welding technical diploma combines theory, demonstrations and hands-on work in Stick, MIG, Flux-Core and TIG welding, oxyacetylene and plasma cutting, robotic welding, CNC fabrication, print reading and inspection. Students may continue into the 64-credit, two-year Welding Fabrication technical diploma for pipe welding, advanced fabrication, robotics, CAD, programming, nondestructive testing and welding-code work. A nine-credit Intro to Gas Metal Arc Welding pathway certificate provides shorter entry-level production-welding preparation. Current welding instruction is documented at the Manufacturing & Engineering Campus, with a Welding-major section also scheduled at the Transportation Education Center.
