City College at Montana State University Billings offers a fall-start Welding and Metal Fabrication pathway with a 40-credit Certificate of Applied Science exit after two semesters and a 67-credit Associate of Applied Science completed over four semesters. Training combines welding theory with extensive individual-booth lab work in Stick, MIG, Flux-Core and TIG welding, pipe layout and welding, fabrication, metallurgy, blueprint reading, CNC plasma/CAD work, and weld testing. The associate curriculum includes plate and pipe test practice under AWS D1.1, API 1104 and ASME Section IX.
