The 69-credit Associate of Applied Science combines the four-semester Welding Technology technical sequence with 15 credits of general education. Students receive intensive training in Stick, MIG, TIG, and Flux-Core welding, four AWS plate positions and four AWS pipe positions, oxy-fuel, plasma, and air-carbon-arc cutting, blueprint reading, welding mathematics, layout and fabrication, metal identification, safety, and theory. The competitive cohort program averages about two classroom hours and four and a half hands-on shop hours each day; general education is recommended before, after, or during summers rather than alongside the welding sequence.

The 54-credit Advanced Technical Certificate contains the complete four-semester welding technical sequence without general education. Students move through safety, leadership, welding theory, Stick practice, cutting, blueprints, welding mathematics, three progressive welding labs, and a fabrication lab. The 30-credit Intermediate Technical Certificate is the first two semesters of CEI's welding sequence. It covers safety and leadership, blueprint reading, welding theory, Stick welding practice, cutting operations, occupational relations, welding mathematics, and a ten-credit introductory welding lab. It is a shorter, financial-aid-eligible credential within the same competitive cohort program.
