College of Southern Idaho offers a limited-enrollment Welding Technology pathway at its Twin Falls campus. Students can earn a 22-credit Basic Technical Certificate, a 37-credit Intermediate Technical Certificate, or a 63-credit Associate of Applied Science. The curriculum combines safety, welding theory, thermal cutting, blueprint reading and shop practice in Stick, MIG, Flux-Core and TIG welding; the longer awards add applied projects, cooperative education options, pipe welding, sanitary welding, structural steel welding and a fabrication capstone. Admission to welding requires a separate program application and entrance examination.
