College of the Canyons offers a broad Welding Technology pathway at its Valencia campus. Students can pursue an Associate in Science, a comprehensive Certificate of Achievement, or focused awards in structural steel, TIG, semiautomatic, pipe fabrication, metal fabrication and robotic welding automation. Coursework combines applied theory, safety, print reading, metallurgy, inspection and extensive shop practice, with process options spanning Stick, MIG, Flux-Core, TIG, pipe, structural, fabrication and robotic work. The department aligns portions of its curriculum with AWS SENSE and operates AWS Certified Welder and Certified Robotic Arc Welding testing programs.
