This 65-credit Associate of Applied Science combines welding safety, cutting and oxyacetylene joining, blueprint reading, technical mathematics, Stick, TIG, MIG, pipe welding, and design/layout/fabrication. Students work with steels and aluminum from heavy plate and pipe to thin-gauge sheet. The program prepares graduates for production, construction, and fabrication welding and to attempt limited-thickness AWS D1.1 qualification tests in SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW.
