Community College of Philadelphia offers two current noncredit welding pathways at the Career and Advanced Technology Center. Structural Welding is a 300-hour evening program for combination-welder preparation, while the 450-hour daytime Welding Technology/Naval Welding program emphasizes structural, pipe, and specialty welding for shipbuilding, defense, energy, aerospace, construction, and manufacturing. Training is hands-on and covers Stick, MIG, TIG, cutting, blueprint and welding-symbol interpretation, safety, metallurgy, quality control, and job readiness. The 450-hour program explicitly includes preparation and performance qualification testing aligned to AWS D1.1 and NAVSEA requirements.
