Instruction integrates shop safety, welding principles and metallurgy, blueprint and welding-symbol interpretation, Stick, MIG, and TIG setup and basic welds, oxy-fuel cutting, inspection, quality control, testing, and workplace readiness. The program emphasizes practical application of math and blueprint skills in the welding shop.

A 450-hour advanced, hands-on welding program for structural, pipe, and specialty work in shipbuilding, defense, heavy manufacturing, energy, and aerospace. Students train in Stick, MIG, pulsed MIG, and TIG; oxy-fuel and plasma cutting; carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and copper-nickel; plate and pipe joints; blueprints and welding procedure specifications; metallurgy, temperature control, safety, inspection readiness, and employer requirements. The program includes OSHA 10 and explicit preparation and performance qualification testing aligned to AWS D1.1 and NAVSEA standards.
