Cuyahoga Community College offers a stackable industrial welding pathway at its Manufacturing Technology Center in Cleveland. The 19-credit introductory certificate teaches Stick, MIG, TIG, oxy-fuel and plasma processes, blueprint reading, safety, and foundational shop skills. The 35-credit Certificate of Proficiency adds Flux-Core welding, robotic welding, nondestructive testing, structural fabrication, and workplace safety. The 62-credit Associate of Applied Science combines the full welding sequence with metallurgy, technical writing, mathematics, communication, and other general education. MIG, TIG, and Stick courses include test-piece evaluation for AWS certification levels from 1F through 4G.
