Delaware County Community College offers a credit-bearing Welding Technology Certificate of Competency at the Marple Campus. The 29-credit certificate combines welding theory and shop practice in Stick, MIG, TIG, Flux-Core, oxy-fuel welding and cutting, plasma cutting, inspection, metallurgy, blueprint and welding-symbol interpretation, and non-destructive testing. Students may continue into the 61-63-credit Skilled Trades Associate in Applied Science, which can apply up to 30 credits from a trade or technical certificate and adds general education, communication, problem-solving, safety, and supervision coursework for advancement in skilled-trades careers.
