This 29-credit credit-bearing certificate combines practical shop training with theory in Stick, TIG, MIG, Flux-Core, oxy-fuel welding and cutting, plasma cutting, inspection, metallurgy, blueprint and welding-symbol interpretation, and non-destructive testing. The full-time plan spans four semesters; students work with electrodes in four positions, interpret technical information, apply safety practices, and develop basic inspection and code knowledge. A six-semester part-time evening plan is also published, although the oxy-fuel course may not be available in the evening.

This 61-63-credit associate degree is a career-advancement pathway for students in skilled trades including welding. It can apply up to 30 credits from a completed trade or technical certificate and allows 30 credits of WLD or other approved skilled-trades coursework. General education, technical communication, mathematics, construction supervision, first aid and safety, and additional skilled-trades electives build communication, problem-solving and supervisory skills. Welding students can use the college's Welding Technology certificate as the recommended technical concentration.
