Delaware Technical Community College — Seaford Innovation Center (SIC)

Delaware Technical Community College offers two noncredit welding certificate pathways through Workforce Development and Community Education. The 250-hour Welding Technician program provides hands-on instruction in MIG, TIG, pulse-TIG, Stick, Flux-Core, pipe welding and fitting, machine operation, metallurgy, blueprint reading, and OSHA safety. The state-registered Welding Apprenticeship front-loads 576 hours of related classroom and shop training before participants seek employment with a registered sponsor and complete about 8,000 hours of employer-supervised on-the-job training toward journeyman status. Current welding delivery is documented at the Seaford Innovation Center, with Welding Technician also offered at the New Castle Innovation and Technology Center.
