Divers Institute of Technology

Divers Institute of Technology offers a seven-month, 900-clock-hour Professional Commercial Diving diploma at its Lake Union campus. Welding is one module within the broader commercial-diving curriculum: students practice topside and underwater Stick welding, oxyfuel cutting, underwater exothermic burning and inspection techniques before continuing into hydraulics, salvage, SCUBA, inland operations and deep-water surface-supplied diving. The program includes multiple commercial-diving and safety certifications, uses real-world Puget Sound and Lake Washington training sites, and is approved for veteran training.
