East Central Community College offers a 30-credit Welding and Cutting Technology Career Certificate at its Decatur campus. The two-semester curriculum combines welding theory with hands-on shop training in Stick, MIG, TIG, and Flux-Core welding; oxyfuel, plasma, and air-carbon-arc cutting; construction and welding safety; blueprint reading; welding symbols; and metallurgy. The program is designed to prepare students for entry-level welding work in manufacturing and construction.
