The 63- to 64-credit Associate in Applied Science builds on the first-year Pipe Welding certificate. Students complete Stick and Flux-Core structural and pipe welding, then add pipe fitting, MIG and TIG welding on plate and pipe, pipe fabrication, blueprint reading, metallurgy, quality assurance and general education. Program outcomes require performance to AWS D1.1 structural and ASME Section IX pipe standards, including AWS structural and ASME Stick and TIG pipe qualification tests.

This fall-start, one-year certificate requires 31 to 32 credits. Its modular sequence covers metal technology, basic through advanced Stick welding, structural Stick, Flux-Core, blueprint reading and drafting, and progressive Stick pipe welding through an ASME qualification course, along with technical math and general education. Students perform structural work to AWS D1.1 quality standards and pipe work to ASME Section IX standards.
