Fayette County Career & Technical Institute provides a secondary Welding Technology/Welder program and a separate 200-hour adult evening welding course. The secondary program covers welding safety and math, metal properties and heat treatment, blueprint reading and weld symbols, weld inspection and destructive and nondestructive testing, thermal cutting, SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, and fabrication. It offers cooperative education opportunities and identifies AWS D1.1/D1.3, ASME Section IX, OSHA 10, and SP2 Welding credentials. The adult course is organized as four 50-hour segments and awards a completion certificate.
