Flathead Valley Community College offers three welding credentials at its Flathead Valley Campus in Kalispell: an Associate of Applied Science and Certificate of Applied Science in Welding and Fabrication Technology, plus a shorter Welding Technology Certificate of Technical Studies. Training combines shop practice, cutting, blueprint interpretation, fabrication, and multiple arc-welding processes. The AAS and CAS pathways prepare students for AWS D1.1 limited-thickness, unlimited-thickness, and pipe qualifications, while the CTS requires at least two welding qualifications through its test-preparation curriculum.
