About Fletcher Technical Community College (school-wide)
Fletcher Technical Community College delivers welding education at its Thibodaux facility through five focused career and technical certificates, an Intermediate Welder certificate, a Welding technical diploma, and a Technical Studies associate pathway. The program covers oxyfuel and plasma cutting, Stick, TIG, Flux-Core, MIG, and pipe welding, with shop-based training and blueprint interpretation. Fletcher states that its welding curriculum reviews AWS-designated skills and prepares students for the AWS entry-level test. A separate evening AWS Welding Basics course provides short-term, primarily hands-on practice and referral to testing laboratories when students demonstrate the required skills.
