This 31-credit, one-year technical certificate combines OSHA-10 safety, blueprint reading and thermal cutting with hands-on MIG, TIG, Stick and Flux-Core welding. Students also study weld discontinuities, destructive testing and welding-procedure qualification, then progress to pre-pipe Stick work and advanced pulsed MIG. The program emphasizes structural-steel welding and offers AWS certification opportunities in multiple positions and processes.

The 64- to 65-credit Associate of Applied Science includes the full first-year technical-certificate curriculum, then adds nondestructive testing, advanced Stick and TIG work to ASME practices, advanced Stick pipe welding to API practices, advanced MIG for pipe and code applications, and automated welding. General education supports the two-year award. The pathway is oriented toward construction and repair work in power plants and refineries as well as entry-level automated-welding roles, and the current catalog lists AWS certification opportunities.
