Flint Hills Technical College offers a one-year Welding Technology Technical Certificate and a two-year Associate of Applied Science at its Emporia main campus. The first year combines safety, blueprint reading, cutting, inspection and destructive testing with hands-on MIG, TIG, Stick and Flux-Core welding, including structural work and welder-qualification practice. The associate pathway adds advanced ASME- and API-oriented pipe welding, nondestructive testing, automated welding and general education for power-plant, refinery, construction and manufacturing work. The current catalog lists American Welding Society certification opportunities across multiple positions and processes.
