Forsyth Technical Community College offers a 68-credit Welding Technology Associate in Applied Science, a 44-credit diploma, and an 18-credit certificate at its main Winston-Salem campus. The curriculum combines substantial shop practice with welding theory, cutting, symbols and specifications, metallurgy, fabrication, inspection and testing, and automated welding. Depending on the credential, students train in Stick, MIG, TIG, flux-cored, plate and pipe welding. The associate degree adds certification practices, advanced pipe work, work-based learning or management, and general education. Day and evening pathways are available for the diploma and certificate, while the associate degree is offered during the day.
