Fort Peck Community College is a tribally controlled community college serving the Fort Peck Assiniboine and Sioux communities. Its 28-credit Welding Technician Certificate of Technical Studies prepares students for entry-level employment and apprenticeships in welding shops, construction, pipeline-related work, and fabrication. The two-course welding sequence combines safety and theory with extensive hands-on performance, equipment setup, cutting, fit-up, joint design, blueprint and welding-symbol interpretation, and fabrication. Official current and recent course descriptions support Stick, MIG, TIG and flux-cored welding. The curriculum follows NCCER and AWS SENSE guidance, offers NCCER credential opportunities, and gives completers an opportunity to take an AWS certification test.
