About Freedom Academy (school-wide)
Freedom Academy is a private nonprofit adult continuing-education organization serving northeast Indiana with practical workforce training. Its current 80-hour welding course emphasizes hands-on Gas Metal Arc Welding, safety, equipment setup, electrode selection, common weld positions and joints, and visual inspection. The academy states that a certified welding instructor teaches the course, a certified welding inspector evaluates plates, and students are prepared to test for AWS certification. A recent partnership places a funded welding cohort at Impact Institute's Kendallville welding facility.
