Georgia Piedmont Technical College offers a 54-credit Welding and Joining Technology diploma plus technical certificates in basic and advanced Stick welding, MIG welding, TIG welding, and pipe welding. Diploma students study safety, tools and measurement, oxyfuel and plasma cutting, blueprint reading and welding symbols, Stick, MIG and TIG welding, and preparation for industrial qualification tests; elective study can add flux-cored welding, fabrication, advanced TIG or pipe welding. The welding department is based at the DeKalb Campus in Clarkston. A 2026-27 dual-enrollment partnership also delivers four stackable welding certificates at DeKalb High School of Technology South.
