The 54-credit Welding and Joining Technology diploma combines eight credits of basic academic skills with 46 occupational credits. Required shop and technical study covers welding safety, hand and power tools, measurement, oxyacetylene work, oxyfuel and plasma cutting, blueprint reading and welding symbols, all-position Stick welding, MIG and TIG welding, and preparation for industrial qualification tests under selected national welding codes and standards. Students choose occupational electives that may add advanced TIG, fabrication, pipe welding or flux-cored welding.

A 12-credit Technical Certificate of Credit that prepares students for entry-level work using the Stick process. Students study welding safety, tools and measurement, oxyacetylene welding, oxyfuel and plasma cutting, and flat-position shielded metal arc welding. Flat-position qualification tests are used to evaluate progress toward industrial welds.

A 12-credit Technical Certificate of Credit that continues the basic Stick certificate. Students develop horizontal, vertical and overhead SMAW skills, including electrode selection, joints, welding to specification and position-specific qualification tests. Completion of the Basic Shielded Metal Arc Welder TCC is required.

A 15-credit Technical Certificate of Credit centered on MIG welding. Required study covers welding-shop fundamentals, safety, tools and measurement, oxyacetylene work, oxyfuel and plasma cutting, and all-position GMAW theory, setup, transfer modes, wire and shielding-gas selection, joints and qualification testing. One occupational elective adds an advanced welding or fabrication topic.

A 15-credit Technical Certificate of Credit centered on TIG welding. Required study covers welding-shop fundamentals, safety, tools and measurement, oxyacetylene work, oxyfuel and plasma cutting, and all-position GTAW equipment setup, shielding gases, cleaning, filler-metal selection, joints and qualification testing. One occupational elective adds an advanced welding or fabrication topic.

A 10-credit advanced Technical Certificate of Credit for graduates of the Welding and Joining Technology diploma. The curriculum combines advanced TIG, fabrication practices and pipe welding, including pipe layout and preparation, joint assembly and welding in 2G, 5G and 6G positions. Qualification tests are used in advanced TIG instruction.
