Gillette College

Gillette College, operated by the independent Gillette Community College District, offers Welding Technology as an Associate of Applied Science and as a certificate. Students develop hands-on proficiency with welding equipment and processes while studying safety, thermal cutting, print reading and welding symbols, weld inspection, metallurgy, destructive and nondestructive testing, fabrication, pipe work and automated welding. Current course schedules document Stick, MIG, TIG and flux-cored welding along with pipe and fabrication courses. The certificate prepares students for entry-level work and transitions into the AAS without loss of credit. Both pathways are fall-entry programs, and students may also gain experience through hands-on projects, co-ops or internships.
