Great Basin College is a public Nevada state college whose School of Industrial Technology and Workplace Development offers welding pathways at the Elko campus. The current AAS and Certificate of Achievement curricula combine extensive shop instruction with welding theory, blueprint and symbol interpretation, metallurgy, cutting, pipe layout and fabrication. Official course and program materials document Stick, MIG, TIG and Flux-Core welding in multiple positions, plus pipe and structural work. Great Basin also publishes 3G and 4G skills certificates designed for preparation toward American Welding Society Certified Welder examinations.
