Great Plains Welding Academy

Great Plains Welding Academy is a private welding school in Rapid City, South Dakota. Its 240-hour accelerated program is approximately 90 percent shop training and centers on AWS D1.1 structural steel welding with MIG and Stick. After completing the certification plates, students also receive introductory TIG and flux-cored welding exposure. Full-time students can finish in six weeks, while part-time morning or afternoon students can finish in twelve weeks. The school operates year-round with flexible start dates and states that the program includes eight industry-standard welder certifications, safety, blueprint interpretation, work-readiness instruction and industry exposure.
