Greater Michigan Construction Academy provides construction-trades education at Michigan training centers and is an NCCER-accredited training sponsor. Its Welding AWS Level 1 program delivers 500 class hours in MIG, TIG, Stick and flux-cored welding, including fillet and open-butt plate welds. Students practice fillet and groove welds in multiple positions on carbon steel, along with limited TIG work on stainless steel and aluminum. The program is designed around AWS Level 1 certification and the school operates as an AWS Accredited Test Facility.
