Greater New Bedford Vocational Technical Institute is a public adult and continuing-education school in New Bedford, Massachusetts. Its current welding offerings are separate eight-week evening courses in Arc Welding and MIG-TIG Welding. Arc Welding introduces machine operation, care, maintenance, voltage and amperage, electrode selection, safety, and beading, butt, flat, vertical and overhead welds. MIG-TIG Welding introduces consumable-wire welding with shielding gas and tungsten inert gas welding. Students who attend at least 75 percent of an adult-education program receive a certificate. Current fall 2026 sessions are held at the institute's Ashley Boulevard campus.
