Green River College is a public community college whose Welding Technology program is based in the Trades Technology buildings on the Auburn main campus. Students can pursue a 94-credit, two-year Associate in Applied Science or one of three 26-credit, six-month certificates: Basic Arc and Flame, Intermediate Arc and Flame, and Advanced Arc Welding. The program combines practical welding with preparation for employment in structural steel, fabrication and related fields. The shorter Trade Welder pathway is designed to build proficiency for American Welding Society or Washington Association of Building Officials certification tests, and WABO testing is available through the college. Students may enter at the beginning of any quarter after consulting welding faculty.
