Helena College delivers welding instruction in dedicated labs at its Airport Campus. The 36-credit Welding Technology Certificate of Applied Science provides first-year training in shop safety, blueprint reading, layout, fabrication, cutting, and MIG, TIG, Stick and Flux-Core welding. Students may continue into the 68-credit Industrial Welding and Metal Fabrication Associate of Applied Science, which adds advanced joining, forming and fabrication, repair, pipe welding, CNC-related work and a capstone. Official program information states that students develop skills for AWS certification and that the advanced year includes an opportunity to take an AWS certification test.
