Hinds Community College is a public community college in Mississippi. Its Welding and Cutting Technology pathway is offered in Jackson, Rankin, Raymond, Utica and Vicksburg and provides face-to-face training for entry-level welding work. Students study Stick, MIG, TIG, flux-cored and pipe welding along with plasma, carbon-arc and oxyfuel cutting, aluminum welding, math, metallurgy, blueprint reading, inspection and destructive and nondestructive testing. The pathway has 30-credit career, 45–46-credit technical and 60–63-credit AAS exit points; select required courses are available online.
