Horry-Georgetown Technical College offers its 34-credit Advanced Welding Technologies certificate at dedicated advanced-manufacturing centers in Conway and Georgetown. The three-semester curriculum combines extensive laboratory work in Stick, MIG, Flux-Core and TIG welding with thermal cutting, ferrous and nonferrous metals, pipefitting, purge welding of sanitary process pipe, metallurgy, print reading, testing, safety and fabrication layout. The program explicitly prepares students for AWS welder performance certifications, and HGTC operates an accredited welding test facility. Separate continuing-education Welding I–III courses provide shorter evening skill-development options at Conway.
