Impact Institute is a public career and adult-education cooperative serving participating school corporations in northeast Indiana. Its two-year high-school Vocational Welding program teaches welding theory, Stick, MIG and TIG practice, cutting, shop equipment and safety, with six to twelve high-school credits and as many as 21 eligible Ivy Tech dual credits. The program follows an American Welding Society curriculum and gives students an opportunity to earn AWS Level I certification. Impact also advertises a separate adult Welding and AWS Certification training opportunity covering advanced plate work and MIG, TIG, gas and arc processes.
