Independence Community College offers a 16-credit Welding Technology certificate at its Independence, Kansas campus. The two-semester curriculum covers OSHA-10 safety, mechanical and thermal cutting, MIG, Stick and TIG welding, blueprint reading and fabrication. Students perform visual and destructive weld testing and build practical skills intended to help them pass employer hire-on welding tests and enter welding or fabrication work.
