Lower Columbia College offers a 58-quarter-credit Welding Certificate of Proficiency and a 103-107-quarter-credit Welding Associate in Applied Science. The pathways combine shop and classroom instruction in stick, flux-core and MIG welding, blueprint reading, safety and fabrication; the associate pathway also includes TIG, machining and cooperative work experience. WABO qualification-test preparation is built into the curriculum, and students must pass at least one WABO examination to graduate.
