Meridian Community College offers stackable Welding and Cutting Technology credentials leading from a 30-credit career certificate to a 45-credit technical certificate and an Associate of Applied Science. The curriculum combines classroom instruction with extensive laboratory practice in Stick, MIG, TIG and Flux-Core welding; oxyfuel, plasma and air-carbon-arc cutting; and, in the advanced certificate, 6G pipe welding and pipe fabrication. Supporting coursework covers safety, blueprints, welding symbols, metallurgy, inspection, testing and AWS D1.1 welding code concepts.
