A 600-hour career major focused on structural welding through shop-centered instruction and fabrication projects. Required courses include Stick equipment setup, electrodes, beads, fillet welds and groove welds; MIG plate welding; Flux-Core plate welding; and an introduction to welding and cutting processes. Students also study safety, welding blueprints, detail drawings and workforce staging, and complete projects such as custom smoker grills and mobile welding beds.
