The 750-hour advanced career-certificate program develops intermediate and advanced SMAW and GTAW skills, including Class-B pipe welding and pipe-fitting applications. It also introduces advanced welding procedures, robotic and semi-automatic welding, and setup, basic programming and troubleshooting for CNC plasma cutting. Admission normally requires prior Welding Technology training or relevant advanced-welding experience.

Current official materials document oxyacetylene welding, stick, MIG and TIG processes, oxy-fuel flame cutting and plasma cutting. Students progress through Welder Assistant, SMAW and Welder occupational completion points while also studying print reading, layout, metal identification, mathematics, tools and safe work practices.
