Mid Michigan College offers welding education through a 32-credit Welding Training Credential, two 12-credit pre-apprentice certificates, a welding track within the Advanced Integrated Manufacturing associate degree, and a 90-hour short-term welding course. Official course descriptions document Stick, MIG, TIG and flux-cored welding; oxyacetylene brazing; oxyfuel, plasma and air-carbon-arc cutting; fabrication; and pipe-welding coursework. The academic curriculum combines shop instruction with blueprint reading, welding symbols, metallurgy, safety and inspection-related topics. The college maintains welding laboratories at Harrison and Mt. Pleasant, while the short-term course is also listed at the Huron Area Technical Center in Bad Axe.
