Minnesota State College Southeast offers Welding Technology diploma and certificate pathways at its Winona campus. Both begin with hands-on shop training in Stick, MIG, TIG, and oxyfuel welding, cutting and brazing, supported by welding theory, equipment setup, safety, blueprint reading and weld inspection. The 17-credit certificate covers the first-semester curriculum in flat-position work. The 34-credit diploma adds advanced MIG and TIG work, fabrication projects, a capstone and internship opportunity, and prepares students to complete an AWS D1.1 bend test.
