Moraine Park Technical College — Fond du Lac Campus

A one-year, 29-credit technical diploma preparing students for entry-level welding employment through hands-on laboratory training in all positions. The curriculum covers Stick, MIG, flux-core and TIG welding, thermal cutting, robotic welding and metal fabrication, along with print reading, metallurgy and occupational math.

An 8-credit certificate preparing students for entry-level MIG welding in as little as six months. Students receive hands-on practice with gas metal arc welding in all positions plus welding print reading and occupational math.

An 8-credit certificate preparing students for entry-level TIG welding in as little as six months. Coursework covers TIG welding in multiple positions, welding print reading and occupational math.

A 7-credit certificate for entry-level Stick welding. The curriculum includes shielded metal arc welding in all positions, cutting processes, welding print reading and occupational math.

A three-semester, 39-credit technical diploma in fabricating metal products from planning through completed assemblies. Hands-on coursework includes MIG, TIG, flux-core and Stick welding; robotic welding; metal fabrication; and laser, plasma and oxyfuel cutting. Completion also prepares students for the FMA Fundamentals of Metal Fabrication Certificate exam.

A tuition-free, 14-credit short-term certificate combining introductory MIG and TIG welding, welding theory, print reading, occupational math and a paid welding internship. Applicants complete information, testing and mechanical-aptitude steps.

A 7-credit employer-sponsored boot-camp certificate for experienced welders who want to operate robotic welding systems. Coursework includes robotic welding plus introductory MIG and TIG welding.
