The Level I series begins with the 40-contact-hour Welding and Cutting Fundamentals 101 course, covering terminology and the differences among TIG, MIG, stick, flux-core, oxyfuel welding and oxyfuel cutting. Students may continue into a 20-hour welding-symbols and positions course and 36-contact-hour shop modules in TIG aluminum, TIG carbon steel, TIG stainless steel, SMAW 6011, SMAW 7018 and GMAW.
