The AAS combines general education with a technical welding core and intensive shop courses. Students complete stick, MIG/flux-core and TIG plate work, advanced plate and pipe welding, two fabrication courses, GTAW pipe, welding symbols, certification practices and related CAD and safety coursework. They choose either automated welding/cutting or additional stick pipe welding and develop code-based performance-test skills through classroom and practical application.
