New River Community College offers credit and short-term welding training through its Business and Technologies division. Current credit options include a Welding Technology certificate plus career studies certificates in fundamentals, advanced welding and welding automation. Instruction documented across the school includes Stick, MIG, TIG and Flux-Core welding; oxyfuel, thermal and air-carbon-arc cutting; fabrication; and qualification work tied to AWS D1.1 structural steel and ASME Section IX. Current Fall 2026 schedules place welding lectures and required labs in the Rooker welding area at the Dublin campus, with both daytime and evening sections available for some courses.
