About Northeast Iowa Community College (school-wide)

Northeast Iowa Community College provides hands-on welding education through a nine-month, 36-credit competency-based diploma at Peosta and two short-term Career Pathway Certificates. The diploma documents MIG, TIG and Stick welding, pipe welding, flame cutting and plasma cutting, with flexible progression and Fall, Spring or Summer entry. The Welding (Basic) certificate introduces steel and aluminum MIG welding at Cresco, while the Welding (GMAW) certificate provides wire-fed structural-steel training at Calmar, Oelwein, Peosta and Waukon. The diploma explicitly prepares students for an AWS Qualification Exam.
